PLS 141 American National Government (3 CR)

This course develops a systematic framework for the interpretation of political activity in the U.S. Numerous models will be used to explain the theoretical foundations of government and the decision-making process.

Various teaching methods will be used in the class. Some of these methods include classroom review of text material, lively and thoughtful debates and discussions (as a class and in small groups), the use of media material when relevant (i.e. video clips etc.), and simulations.

Prerequisites: ENG 085 and ENG 090

PLS 262 International Relations (3 CR)

Survey contemporary world affairs and examine the nationstate system, the struggle for power, and factors creating harmony and hostility among states.

Prerequisites: ENG 085 and ENG 090
