Corporate & Continuing Education
The office of Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) at Jackson College, and the Center for Employee Development, LLC (C4ED), have teamed up to deliver Lean Training. Now available on campus, The Lean Environment Simulator (LES) is designed to give participants an opportunity to experience true lean manufacturing principles and tools firsthand. This simulator, originally developed based on the Toyota Production Model, has rarely been made accessible to the general population of employers – until now.
- 8-Hour Rapid Training - This 8-hour, interactive Lean Manufacturing course will ignite the importance of a Lean journey and provide a clear understanding of how Lean environments are intended to function. Subsequent training classes will provide learning opportunities to develop the requisite knowledge and skills to begin implementing a Lean journey in your organization.
- Lean Process Certificate Series - The Lean Process Certificate Series will prepare participants on how to apply 5S, problem solving, standard work, and continuous improvement techniques in Lean organizations. During the series, participants will be given the basic tools of Lean practices and examples of how they apply to the manufacturing, office, and medical areas. After completing the series, participants will have all the foundational information necessary to begin implementing Lean practices in their workplace.
CCE offers GD&T courses, designed for any industry that utilizes modern industrial prints and drawings. Proper understanding of GD&T requires a solid understanding of basic blue print reading, symbols use, print standards, and specific GD&T rules and applications. CCE offers GD&T Fundamentals and GD&T Review and Update training. Courses are offered as open enrollment or can be customized for the employer.
- GD&T Fundamentals - This course will cover blue print reading basics as it applies to GD&T notation. GD&T rules will be covered as well as all relevant symbols and terminology. Some arithmetic operations will be used to determine true position, virtual condition, and datum references.
- GD&T Review and Updates - This course will review GD&T notation. GD&T rules will be covered as well as all relevant symbols and terminology, gage sketching, and CMM report comparisons. Some arithmetic operations will be used to determine true position, virtual condition, and datum references. Some experience with GD&T expected.
Both courses utilize "The Ultimate GD&T Pocket Guide" by A. Krulikowski. Book included in course fee.
