Founders Scholarship

Jackson College continues to attract students who strive for academic excellence. Many students who choose to attend Jackson College bring to the College a resume full of extracurricular activities, high standardized test scores, academic achievements, and the determined spirit to go far with their career. These students have created a continuous legacy of success among our alum. The Foundation Office would like to recognize these students with the Jackson College Founder’s Scholarship.

Students simply fill out the Founder’s Scholarship application and submit their high school transcripts (with ACT score) and a personal writing sample. Strong writing skills will be critical to your academic success at Jackson College, the Scholarship Committee requires a writing sample as part of your application.

There are three acceptable writing samples:

  • A scanned copy of a recent graded paper (including teacher comments and grade).
  • Something you've written for another college application.
  • A personal statement on any topic of your choice.

Once the application is complete, it simply can be returned to the Admission Office (Jackson College, 2111 Emmons Road, Jackson, MI 49201), along with the required documents, and a recommendation will be made to the Foundation Office.

Based upon the Foundation’s approval, a dollar amount will be offered to those students who have earned the scholarship.

Jackson College Foundation offers dozens of private scholarships each year, providing approximately $200,000 in aid for students. Private scholarships are awarded based on criteria set by our donors.
