Preparing for College: 11th Grade
You're halfway home. Here are some points to think about as a junior to help you stay on track and reach your goals:
- Prepare for tests. In October, juniors should take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). In the spring, take the ACT or SAT college entrance exams.
- Research colleges that interest you and plan visits to the campuses.
- In the summer before 12th grade, narrow the list of college prospects and begin requesting applications, course catalogs and financial aid information.
- Continue to take challenging classes and stay active and involved.
