Admission to JCC/U of M Transfer Program
New Students
- Complete an application.
Available at any JCC location. Where it states EDUCATIONAL GOAL/PROGRAMS
OF STUDY write in JCC/U of M transfer. It is available on JCC's Website
Click here. At the website scroll down to U of M/JCC transfer program and highlight.
Type in University of Michigan where it says "Colleges or Universities I may transfer to".
- Take course placement.
Course placement assesses your skill level in writing, reading and math to ensure your success. Call 796-8153 to schedule.
- Attend orientation.
We introduce you to JCC! You'll be able to meet with a counselor or academic advisor, register and pay for your classes. Call 796-8425 schedule.

Admission Requirements for High School Students
- Graduate of an accredited high school or equivalent with credit for (GPA 3.0 or higher):
- Three years of English
- Three years of Math (including algebra)
- Two years of laboratory science (including chemistry)
- A combined total of four years selected from the following
- - foreign language and
- - social science and/or
- - laboratory science
- Also required are SAT or ACT test results.
- Additional math and science courses are recommended.
Admission Requirements for Non-Traditional Students
(GPA of 3.0 or higher)
- Three years of high school English or ENG 131
- Three years of high school math or MTH 131
- Two years of high school laboratory science (One year must be chemistry) or CEM 131
- Four years of high school foreign language and social science and/or laboratory science or two college courses.
- (Non-remedial and not to include ENG 131, MTH 131 or CEM 131). Strongly suggested are the requirements and/or electives of the program.
