Open auditions set for Neil Simon production
Jackson Community College's Theatre Company will host open auditions for the upcoming production of Neil Simon's "Lost in Yonkers," on September 13 & 14, from 6-8 p.m. in the Ruth Day Theatre, Potter Center.
No experience is necessary to audition for the play. The script calls for two young men (older teen-aged), two older men (30s & 40s), and three women (30s-plus). For scripts and information, call 796-8625. The play's performances will be late October.
This nostalgic comedy was Simon's 27th play to open on Broadway, and garnered him the Pulitzer Prize, the Tony Award, as well as, the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards, among others. Critics and audiences alike seemed to connect to the story of family ties that bind. Installing three generations of a Jewish family under one roof, Simon illustrates how we are molded by our families, whether they are nurturing or destructive.
