Bowfire promises an exciting evening

Thrill to a “total string experience” as Jackson Community College welcomes the finest ensemble of violists and fiddlers in Bowfire to the Potter Center at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

Bowfire comprises 11 of Canada’s best violinists and fiddlers backed by a quintet of guitar, cello, bass, piano and drums. Formed in June 2000, Bowfire made its American debut in the summer of 2001. These virtuoso string players showcase styles as diverse as classical, rock, bluegrass, jazz, country and Celtic, in a seamless musical journey and presentation. Fiddlers in the company are world-class step dancers and tap dancers. All of this gets wrapped around a fast-paced show with first class production values that include great sound, choreography, dramatic lighting, set design and costumes. Bowfire is a one-of-a-kind musical and theatrical experience which strings together one show-stopping hit after another.

Tickets are $24, $27 and $30 and may be purchased by calling either the Potter Center Ticket Office at 517.796.8600, or online at www.jccmi.edu/events.
