JCC students to collect used textbooks for charity
April 28, 2006
Frustrated the bookstore didn't buy your books back? Don't
throw them away, donate them to a good cause! This semester
Alpha Rho Lambda, the Jackson Community College chapter of Phi
Theta Kappa honor society, will partner with Better World Books
to run a book drive to benefit Room to Read.
JCC jazz dancers to perform original pieces
April 26, 2006
Jackson Community College Jazz Technique students will
perform 11 pieces, choreographed during this semester's dance
class, this Sunday, April 30, at 3 p.m. in the Baughman Theatre.
There is no admission charge.
Shakespeare class to get behind-the-scenes experience with festival

Jackson Community College students enrolled in the English
252 Shakespeare course will learn about The Bard's works not
only from textbooks but also behind-the-scenes experience with
The Michigan Shakespeare Festival this summer.
Play reading examines German soldier's experience in Holocaust

Jackson Community College will present a staged reading of
Dr. Paul Patton's new play, "Kurt Gerstein," at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, May 3, in the Day Theatre, Potter Center.
EXPOSED! coming to Potter Center stage

Jackson Community College's theatre students will present
Theatrewerks: EXPOSED! This will be an evening on one-act plays,
at 9 p.m. April 28-29 in the Ruth Day Theatre, Potter Center.
These will contain strong language and adult themes.
Sports make a comeback at JCC

Jackson Community College's Board of Trustees Monday
approved the return of sports to the College beginning this
fall. JCC hasn't had a competitive sports program since the
early 1980s.
Forensics in the spotlight: Showcase to feature JCC students

Jackson Community College's forensics team will present a
Forensics Showcase and Debate from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 20,
in Federer Rooms A & B, Potter Center.
JCC Instructor Ted Miller honored for service to developmental education

Congratulations to Jackson Community College Professor Ted
Miller, Ph.D., who was recently recognized by the Michigan
Developmental Education Consortium with the Outstanding Service
to Developmental Education Award by a faculty member.

Affirmative action proposal topic of forum with Sen. Schauer
April 4, 2006
Jackson Community College will host a forum at 10 a.m.
Monday, April 17, in Federer Rooms A&B, Potter Center, to
discuss a possible 2006 ballot referendum before the State of
Michigan to do away with all affirmative actions programs,
presented by state Sen. Mark Schauer, a Democrat representing
the19th District.
'Celebration of Arts' to feature JCC students from variety of disciplines

Jackson Community College students present a "Celebration of the
Arts," at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, in the Baughman Theatre,
