For immediate release JCC students selected to present papers at LAND conferenceSix Jackson Community College students’ writings have been selected as finalists in the Michigan Liberal Arts Network for Development (LAND) 12th Annual Conference for Student Scholars at Michigan’s Two-Year Colleges. The Student Scholars competition is designed to encourage and reward quality academic work by students in community colleges. Teachers from a variety of subject areas are invited to select the best term papers and project reports and enter them in the competition. The top three entries in each of 17 categories (science, literature, technology, etc.) are selected as finalists and invited to present at the Student Scholars Conference, which is Sept. 22 at Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn. Each winner then receives a monetary award, and his or her essay will be published.JCC students who are finalists include the following:
· Christopher Konieczki of Jackson: “Education for a New Generation” in the technology category.
