For immediate release Clint Black brings signature country style to Potter CenterClint Black’s impact on country music over the past two decades cannot be denied. The prolific singer and songwriter will bring his signature style to the Jackson Community College Potter Center for one show only, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. This “Up Close and Personal” performance will feature the musician and artist in a special concert. A native of Texas, Clint Black first appeared on the charts back in 1989 with his first single, “A Better Man,” going on to score four straight No. 1s from the album “Killin’ Time” that went Triple Platinum. He garnered numerous awards, including Country Music Association Male Vocalist of the Year, American Music Awards Favorite New Male Country Artist, Academy of Country Music Single of the Year, and many more. He scored again in 1990 with the Triple Platinum album “Put Yourself in My Shoes.” Three Platinum albums followed, “The Hard Way” In 1992, “No Time to Kill” in 1993, and “One Emotion” in 1994. He released “Looking for Christmas” in 1994, and his “Greatest Hits” in 1996 earned Double Platinum status. That was followed in 1997 by “Nothin’ But the Tailights,” a Platinum release, and “D’lectrified” in 1999, a Gold release. He released “Greatest Hits II,” in 2001, the last on the RCA label. He started his own record company, Equity Music Group, and has received “Spend My Time,” and “Christmas with You,” in 2004, and “Drinkin’ Songs and Other Logic,” in 2005 on his Equity label. To date, Clint Black has had nearly two dozen No. 1 hit singles, and almost as many Top 5 and Top 10 hits, all of them original compositions. Opening for Clint Black will be Laura Bryna, Equity Music Group newcomer, who will perform new music from her forthcoming Equity album entitled, “Trying To Be Me.” Tickets for Clint Black are $50, $45 and $40.
