Nov. 13, 2007 For immediate release Forensics team travels to Bowling Green, takes fourthJackson Community College’s forensics team members took fourth place for Division II at the Bowling Green State University Falcon Forensic Classic in Bowling Green, Ohio. JCC students Monica Rasmussen, Montgomery Beauchene and David Kline, all new to forensics this year, competed. Rasmussen competed in Impromptu Speaking and Prose Interpretation, “A Moonlit Night with Rats” by Elizabeth Engstrom. Beauchene competed in Poetry Interpretation category with selections from “Blue Wizard is About to Die” by Seth “Fingers” Flynn Barkan. Kline competed in After Dinner Speaking and Impromptu Speaking. The Falcon Classic welcomed 20 colleges, seven from Michigan, including Oakland Community College and Spring Arbor University who took first and second in Division II. This was the Jets’ third tournament of the season, and the JCC forensic and debate speech Club next competes at Ohio State University on Nov. 30. The JCC Speech Club is open to all students upon registration in LTL 301 or SPH 101. During the second semester, JCC will be attending events in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. In March, the team is planning to travel to the Novice Nationals Tournament at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL.
