JCC Student Parliament seeking committee leaders  

Jackson Community College Student Parliament has openings for five committee chair persons for the coming year.

The committee chairs would act as liaisons between different areas of the campus and Student Parliament. These include:

·        Special events chair, help with event planning for Welcome Week, student activities throughout year, also offer input on what activities students would like to see;

·        Auxiliary services chair, help connect with services such as facilities, food services, bookstore, and information technology on building and service improvements;

·        Athletics and intramurals chair, help connect with coaches, teams and intramurals coordinator;

·        Student services and recruitment chair, help connect with student services and the Center for Student Success to find ways to improve registration and services to students, help out with admissions efforts and more;

·        Residence life chair, help connect with Campus View community on needs and wants of resident students.

Applications and essay packets for these positions will be available from the Office of Student Life in the Victor Cuiss Fieldhouse beginning Monday, Feb. 25, and will be accepted through Friday, Feb. 29.  Committee chairs must have a minimum grade point average of 2.25.  Interviews will be held the week of March 10-14.  Those who are selected will serve this Winter, Spring/Summer and Fall semesters.
