April 2, 2008 For immediate release JCC plans financial aid workshop at King CenterJackson Community College will host a financial aid night in Jackson to help students understand the financial aid process from 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 10 at the Martin Luther King Center in Jackson. This will be a hands-on workshop to explain more about financial aid options and how to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Participants will learn about the Jackson Legacy Scholarship, how to obtain college scholarships and grants, and about the JCC College Incentive Program scholarship. Participants should bring their completed 2007 federal tax returns, and dependent students should bring their parents’ federal tax return. Students will also need to bring driver’s license, Social Security number, and proof of any untaxed income. It will also help if students (and a parent if dependent) apply for a PIN beforehand at www.pin.ed.gov. The PIN serves as an electronic signature and provides access to personal records.
