News Press Releases
April 24, 2008 For immediate release JCC main campus on heightened security alertAt 12:30 PM today, administration was made aware of a young man who was on campus earlier in the week, allegedly revealing a gun and looking for a da Vinci Institute student. The da Vinci high school is located in a separate building on the east side of the JCC Campus. As a precaution, the superintendent of da Vinci asked his students to remain on their site for lunch today while additional information is being gathered. All doors allowing access into the da Vinci building will be locked and only accessed through the front door with administrative permission. Additional JCC campus security has been dispatched to patrol that area of campus. Local law enforcement was notified and responded accordingly. A restraining order has been requested against the individual who is not a JCC or a da Vinci student. JCC sent a security alert to all employees and students to keep them informed of the situation and encourage individuals to report any suspicious behavior. The College remains open and is NOT in lockdown.
