Jets players Minnerath, Munz compete in all-star game

Jackson Community College men’s basketball players Nick Minnerath and Elliot Munz played in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association Western Conference All-Star Game Sunday at Lansing Community College. It is the second year in a row that the Jets have had a player named to the game.

Minnerath, a freshman from Truro, Mass., was named Most Valuable Player for the MCCAA Western Conference by scoring 17 points in 24 minutes played, including four for eight from three-point range. Munz, a sophomore from Saline, was able to grab six rebounds in 14 minutes of play.

“It’s such a wonderful accomplishment to have two players named to the Western all-star team,” said second-year head coach Steve Finamore. “Minnerath played very well displaying his outside shooting touch.”

The MCCAA Eastern Conference came out with the win, 99-91.

“It’s a great honor for Elliott and Nick to be recognized by opposing coaches in the league and be named all-star,” Finamore added.
