Domestic violence forum planned
Jackson Community College will present an open forum entitled “Understanding Domestic Violence” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 26 in Federer Room A, Potter Center. This event is presented by JCC and the Council on Inclusion and Diversity as part of Women’s History Month.
Moderators for the forum will include social worker Dani Meier, founder of the Real MEN’s Project (Men Embracing Non-violence), a non-profit group in Jackson that believes it is men’s responsibility to help end domestic and sexual violence; Adrienne Rowland, clinical director at Catholic Charities of Jackson, which presents AIM, Aggression Intervention for Men (and women) an intervention program that focuses on domestic violence and the use of power and control in relationships; and La Donna Glenn, domestic violence program coordinator with Aware, Inc. of Jackson.
This event is free and open to the community, JCC students and employees. Lunch will be provided.
