Broadway Revue offers of great family-friendly entertainment

Jackson Community College’s own show troupe, Broadway Revue Jazz/Show Singers and Band, will present a 30th annual spring spectacular — “American Music on Broadway” — at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 3 and 4, 2009, in the Harold Sheffer Music Hall at the Potter Center on the Jackson campus.

This family-friendly event is a singing, dancing, full-scale musical treat, which includes a live band on stage. The singers and dancers are JCC students, and they look and sound amazing!

Great composers such as Duke Ellington, Irving Berlin, the Gershwins, Harold Arlen, Harry Warren, Cole Porter, and others, deserve to be recognized by the latest generation of young Americans, and that is just what has happened with the Broadway Revue group. They love singing and dancing such classic standard hits as Take the A Train, Mood Indigo, Satin Doll, It Don’t Mean a Thing, The Best Things Happen While You’re Dancing, Blue Skies, Circle of Life, 42nd Street, Anything Goes, ‘SWonderful, Embraceable You, Strike Up the Band, Seasons of Love, Impossible Dream,  and God Bless America.

The Broadway Revue is comprised of area music students, some of Jackson Community College’s finest, including music and theater students. The group is directed by Keith and Joann Drayton, and co-directed by Stephen R. Murphy.

Reserved seats for adults are $12 for Section A, $10 for Section B, all main floor seating. Children 6 years and under are free. Discount group rates are available. Tickets are available by calling 517.796.8600, or at the door.
