Jets pitcher signs with Davenport University
Jackson Community College is pleased to announce that Zachary Gonzalez, a left-handed pitcher for the Jets baseball team, has signed with Davenport University to play baseball next year.
Gonzalez is a native of Comstock Park, Mich., and was named 2008 NJCAA All Conference Honorable Mention, and was listed as one of the NJCAA Division II Top Returning Athletes for 2009. Gonzalez plans to study sports management, and he has a grade point average of 3.116.
“Zak was an immediate contributor to our program last year. He has maintained his excellence as a student and an athlete this year, which has lead him to being a scholarship athlete at Davenport University,” said Rick Smith, head coach for the Jets. “He will represent Jackson Community College well at the next level.” Davenport University is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
