Jets baseball ranked No. 7 in nation!

Jackson Community College’s men’s baseball team is ranked No. 7 in the nation on the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division II polls!

The Jets are on a 20-game winning streak, with a 20-5 record in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association conference, and a 36-9 overall record.

“Being ranked nationally is a huge honor for the baseball team and Jackson Community College as a whole,” said Rick Smith, head baseball coach for the Jets. “We still have a lot of work to do though. We have set a goal this year of winning the conference and getting the No. 1 seed going into the Region XII Tournament. We have clinched a spot in the tournament, but we still have three more conference double headers to win to get a chance at the top seed.”

Also, five sophomores on the Jets baseball team have signed to play with four-year schools next year, and more will follow, Smith said.
