Financial aid workshop planned at Jackson's King Center

Still need to file for financial aid to help with college costs?  Jackson Community College will host a financial aid night at Jackson’s Martin Luther King Center at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, May 7.

This financial aid night will help current and future college students fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, a necessary first step for all forms of financial assistance. Participants should bring their completed 2007 and 2008 federal tax returns, and dependent students should bring their parents’ federal tax return. Students will also need to bring driver’s license, Social Security number, and proof of any untaxed income. It will also help if students (and a parent if dependent) apply for a PIN beforehand at www.pin.ed.gov. The PIN serves as an electronic signature and provides access to personal records.

The Martin Luther King Center is located at 1107 Adrian St., Jackson. For more information, contact the JCC Office of Multicultural Relations, 517.796.8470.
