Golf scrambles planned to help hockey, baseball teams

Jackson Community College baseball and hockey teams will host golf outings to help raise funds later this month.

The 2nd Annual JCC Hockey Golf Scramble to support Jets hockey will be held Sunday, Sept. 20 at Lakeland Hills Golf Course, 5119 Page Ave., Jackson. Shotgun start will be at 1:30 p.m. This is a main fund-raiser for the hockey program, a club sport which is “pay to play.” The money raised will help offset ice fees and equipment costs. Cost is $300 for a team of four, which will include 18 holes of golf, cart, prizes and dinner after the scramble. Hole sponsors are welcome. For more information, contact Alex Kimberly at 517.795.8471.

The 4th Annual Baseball Scramble 2009 to support Jets baseball will be held Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Lakeland Hills Golf Course. Shotgun start will be at 9 a.m. Cost is $70 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf with cart, prizes and food, including a buffet meal to follow golf. Prizes will be awarded for closes to the pin, longest drive and skins. Sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information or to register, call Rick Smith at 517.796.8592, or 517.740.9301.
