Financial aid workshops planned on campus, access center
Jackson Community College will host a financial aid workshop for current and future college students at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23 in William Atkinson Hall, Room 222 on the Jackson campus.
Current and future college students may receive help filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid for the 2010-11 year at this workshop. Participants are asked to bring their 2009 federal tax returns, driver’s license, Social Security number, records of untaxed income, recent bank statements and investment information and Department of Education PIN number (apply at www.PIN.ed.gov prior to workshop). For those individuals who are dependent, you will need all the above information for your parents also. Students may also bring in their 2008 tax information to get help filing the 2009-10 FAFSA if necessary for the Spring semester.
Additional financial aid workshops are planned at the Jackson Legacy Program’s College Access Center in the Jackson Crossing Mall, at the following times:
- 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24
- 2-4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26
- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27
- 2-5 p.m. Monday, March 1
