Jackson Community Concert Band to present "Fiesta!"
The Jackson Community Concert Band’s spring concert, “Fiesta!” will heat up the stage at 7 p.m. March 7 in the Harold Sheffer Music Hall, Potter Center!
Concert-goers will enjoy a special vocal performance by soprano Alana Tuckey, mathematics professor at JCC, who will be guest soloist on “Sandburg Reflections” by Lewis J. Buckley. She will also perform the “Habanera” from Bizet’s “Carmen” with the group.
The band will perform “Sonata Pian e Forte” by Giovanni Gabrieli, “Hoagy Carmichael in Concert,” arranged by Warren Barker, “Amparita Roca” Spanish March by Jaime Texidor, and “La Fiesta Mexicana” by H. Owen Reed.
The Jackson Community Concert Band was established in 1987 and is comprised of JCC students, employees and community members, under the direction of Associate Professor Ronald L. Douglass. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased in advance by calling the Potter Center Box Office at 517.796.8600, or at the door the day of the concert.
