JCC cross country teams named Academic All-Americans

Congratulation to Jackson Community College’s men’s and women’s cross country teams on an excellent finish as National Junior College Athletic Association Academic All-America Teams of the Year.

To be recognized, teams must have a minimum 3.2 grade point average as a team to qualify for this ranking). The men’s team finished fourth in the nation academically, while the women’s team finished seventh in the nation academically! The following student athletes qualified as National Academic-All Americans as individuals as well:

  • Michael Dulworth, 4.0 GPA, sophomore nursing student from Jackson High School
  • Joel Medina, 4.0 GPA, freshman pharmacy student from Lumen Christi High School
  • Ryan Donahue, 3.61 GPA, freshman student from Lumen Christi High School
  • David Hudson, 3.5 GPA, sophomore journalism student from Chelsea High School
  • Lauren Decker, 4.0 GPA, sophomore student from Jackson Northwest High School
  • Hanna Olsen, 3.85 GPA, sophomore nursing student from Jackson High School
  • Audrey Spring, 3.75 GPA, freshman graphic design student from Lumen Christi High School
  • Lauren McUmber, 3.5 GPA, freshman nursing student from Jackson Western High School
  • Jody Nicholson, 3.5 GPA, freshman nursing student from Hanover-Horton High School
  • Emily Sponsler, 3.46 GPA, sophomore student from Lumen Christi High School
