Human resources professionals can advance their careers with series of classes

Advance your career as a human resources professional with a new Human Resource Development Series, to be offered by Jackson Community College’s Corporate and Continuing Education office. The series will run on Wednesday mornings from April 28 through June 30.

The Human Resource Development Series, offered through Corporate & Continuing Education at JCC, was designed to meet the needs of both regional employers and our local workforce. This series will assist entry level as well as seasoned HR professionals with maximizing their efforts to positively impact their organizations. Participants who wish to advance their career in HR or establish new competencies within the field are strongly encouraged to enroll.

Classes will be held from 8:45 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays in the Federer Rooms B & C, Potter Center on the Jackson campus.Cost is $80 per course or $650 for the entire series.

The series will include 10 courses:

Course 1: Performing Job Analysis - April 28

Course 2: Interviewing Skills - May 5

Course 3: Developing Behavioral Interviewing Questions - May 12

Course 4: The Role of a Supervisor - May 19

Course 5: Performance Management - May 26

Course 6: The Fundamentals of Documentation, Discipline and Discharge - June 2

Course 7: Managing Generational Differences - June 9

Course 8: Coaching - June 16

Course 9: Wage and Salary Overview - June 23

Course 10: Preventing Harassment and Discrimination by Respecting Diversity - June 30

Participants may enroll in the entire series and earn a non-credit certificate, or enroll in individual courses they may find most relevant.
