Feast for Knowledge offers fine dining experiences that benefit students
After great success in its inaugural year, Jackson Community College’s signature fundraising event “A Feast for Knowledge” is back. The JCC Foundation will again present the Feast for Knowledge in 2010, with a kickoff event at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 25 at the JCC Jackson campus.
At this kickoff party guests enjoy food, beverages, entertainment and the opportunity to sign up to attend one or more private dinners held throughout the year, hosted by College friends and supporters. Guests may either sign up for specific dinner events or choose to bid on others in a live auction format. The kickoff event is opulent and charming, with a menu that consists of delicacies from around the world and a selection of wines from Michigan wineries. “A Feast for Knowledge” is unique in that it continues throughout the year, from the kickoff event in June to the very last party held during the following year. A preview of parties to sign up for that night includes a Dinner with Julia Child, A Garden Lamb Roast, Girls night in Tuscany, a ‘70s Disco Party, a progressive Clarklake Dinner, Brazilian Fare, and Dinner Magic at Darryl’s. A catalog with complete party details will be mailed to all guests prior to the kickoff event. Please call the JCC Foundation office if you’d like to receive one.
Funds raised from the Feast for Knowledge series benefit the JCC Annual Fund, which supports student scholarships, as well as the Harriet Meyer Student Emergency Fund, which provides necessary emergency assistance to cover smaller expenses that may derail a student’s academic goals. Last year through the generosity of College supporters, 225 students received over $225,000 in scholarship funding for tuition, while over 100 students received emergency aid to help cover small emergencies.
