JCC students to present free jazz dance concert
Jackson Community College students will present a special jazz dance concert at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9 in the Ruth Day Theatre, Potter Center.
This concert will feature a variety of dance styles from JCC's jazz dance class. Students will present 15 pieces, including solo dances, duets, trios, quartet and ensemble numbers. Dances are choreographed by students, who come with different levels of experience, under the guidance of Professor Martha Petry, dance instructor. Dances are performed to music by Oona, Wynter Gordon, Karen Elson, Sam Sparro, Francesca Battistelli, and a rich and wide variety of other contemporary composers.
