Auditions planned for fall production, 'They're Playing Our Song'

Jackson Community College will host auditions for students for the Fall production of “They’re Playing Our Song,” from 6-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Sept. 2-3 in the Michael Baughman Theatre, Potter Center.

“They’re Playing Our Song” is a musical comedy with book by Neil Simon, lyrics by Carole Bayer Sager and music by Marvin Hamlisch. Based on the real-life relationship of Hamlisch and Sager, it’s the story where a wisecracking composer finds a new, offbeat lyricist, but initially the match is not one made in heaven. The two undergo a series of trials and overcome a number of hurdles before finding true love by the final curtain.

Any JCC student interested may audition. Performances are scheduled for the last two weekends in October. For more information, contact Sandy DiCesare, coordinator of educational theatre, at 517.796.8625.
