Broadway Revue to perform holiday spectacular, 'Golden Sounds of Christmas'
Jackson Community College’s student show troupe, The Broadway Revue Jazz/Show Singers and Dancers, will present a holiday concert, The Golden Sounds of Christmas, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18 in the Harold Sheffer Music Hall, Potter Center.
Broadway Revue, under the direction of the musical team of Keith and Joann Drayton and Stephen R. Murphy, will sing and dance favorite holiday music in a glittering holiday setting in JCC’s beautiful Harold Sheffer Music Hall. The program will include a medley from the movie and stage classic “White Christmas,” featuring the title song, “Snow,” “Sisters,” “Count Your Blessings,” “The Best Things Happen While You’re Dancing,” and “Blue Skies.” The troupe will also perform a medley of American composer Cole Porter’s hit movie and show tunes, including “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” “Now You Has Jazz,” “I Love Paris,” “You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To,” “Too Darn Hot,” etc. They will also sing a set of carols for the season that includes “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “Carol of the Bells,” and “Sleigh Ride.”
Featured soloists from the group will perform gospel, country and pop tunes such as Josh Groban’s “To Where You Are” and Josh Turner’s “Baby, I’m Your Man.” They will end the show with a new classic, “When You Believe,” from Disney’s “Prince of Egypt.” The audience is sure to enjoy the show’s featured dancing with ballroom, jazz and elements of ballet.
