Great music in store in the Front Porch Concert Series
Jackson Community College welcomes music lovers to the 2012 Front Porch Concert Series.
The Front Porch Series features a number of free concerts in a comfortable, outdoor setting on the “front porch” of the Potter Center. Audience members are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the great music. This year’s concerts include:
- 7 p.m. June 14, Capital City Brass Band. The Capital City Brass Band (CCBB) is an all-volunteer brass and percussion ensemble inspired by the traditional British-style brass band model.
- 7 p.m. June 17, Trombone Fest. Trombone players from across the state gather for this one-of-a-kind musical extravaganza. Bring dad for a special Father’s Day treat!
- 7 p.m. June 26, Pre-Fourth of July concert with the Jackson Community Concert Band. The band is comprised of college students and community members, under the direction of Conductor Ronald L. Douglass. This season has marked the band’s 25th anniversary.
- 7 p.m. June 28, Band Camp Finale. Enjoy the area’s younger musicians as they play in the finale concert to JCC’s Band Camp. This year, Bryan Mangiavellano, director of bands at Northwest Community Schools, is leading the camp.
In case of inclement weather, concerts will move indoors in the Potter Center. Come out and enjoy these fun, free musical events!
