JCC @ VO-TECH, in partnership with the LISD, to offer students more opportunities in automotive

ADRIAN - JCC @ VO-TECH will further its working partnership with the Lenawee Intermediate School District to offer students more educational opportunities this fall semester, which begins Aug. 21.

Automotive Service

JCC @ VO-TECH will present its first automotive repair class, AUT 101 General Service, this fall in cooperation with the LISD Vo-Tech Center. Taught by Vo-Tech instructor Mark LaFollette, the class will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays. This is a unique opportunity for both JCC students and Lenawee County Adult-Learning students to participate in the same course. JCC students can take the course for credit at JCC tuition rate; Lenawee county residents may enroll in the Adult-Learning program, not for college credit, by registering at Vo-Tech and paying their tuition rate.

"This is a good idea. JCC is right next door, and I think it’s a great opportunity to further our partnership," LaFollette said. The next several years should see a high demand for trained automotive professionals at all levels. With technological advances on today’s automobiles, there will be a demand for highly skilled technicians. "I think this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to get into the industry. I wish we had more people taking advantage of JCC’s auto program."
