JCC to host basketball camps this summer

Jackson Community College will host two summer basketball camps for boys and girls.

A youth fundamentals basketball camp, designed for girls and boys in grades 5-8, will be held Aug. 6-7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Victor Cuiss Fieldhouse. This camp will provide an introduction to fundamentals of the game and skill development. Cost is $60.

A high school fundamentals camp will be held Aug. 8-10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the fieldhouse, for girls and boys in grades 9-12. This camp will emphasize skill development, and campers can improve their skills in team scrimmages. Cost is $75. A family discount of $20 will apply when two or more campers from the same family attend either of the camps.

Campers can learn from JCC coaches and JCC basketball players. Lunches will be provided, and each camper will receive a basketball and instruction manual. Students should wear appropriate gym clothes and shoes.
