AGREEMENT OF COOPERATIVE SERVICES FOR A
RADIOGRAPHY PROGRAM
BETWEEN JACKSON COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND
NORTH CENTRAL MICHIGAN COLLEGE
THIS AGREEMENT made this January 19, 2007, between North Central Michigan College, 1515 Howard Street, Petoskey, Michigan 49770 (hereinafter referred to as “NCMC”), and Jackson Community College, located at 2111 Emmons Road, Jackson, Michigan 49201 (hereinafter referred to as “Jackson”).
WHEREAS, both colleges desire to make available a Radiography program to their students, and
WHEREAS, both colleges are community colleges organized under the laws of the State of Michigan and accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and
WHEREAS, both colleges desire to provide educational services to their students in the most economic way, and
WHEREAS, both colleges recognize the community and professional need for Radiography personnel, and
WHEREAS, Jackson does provide a Radiography program, and
NOW THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the premises and the mutual covenants and agreements herein contained, the parties hereto agree to as follows:
1. NCMC Community College agrees to:
a. Identify students who have completed the courses required as prerequisites for Jackson’s Radiography program; and will refer these program applicants to Jackson for final selection and program orientation.
b. Offer academic courses for those students at NCMC as follows:

c. Advise students to register for DMS 100 Introduction to Diagnostic Medical Imaging; and HOC 130 Introduction to Health Occupations, at Jackson. Jackson will allow students to register for these three courses via MCCVLC registration and may pay the established MCCVLC rate. These courses are prerequisites offered at Jackson and need to be completed prior to being considered for admission to JCC’s Radiography program.
d. Advise students that they will need to complete the courses listed in 1. b. and c. prior to applying for admission to JCC’s Radiography program. Admission into JCC Radiography program is not assured. NCMC students will need to follow the outline of this agreement to become eligible to apply for admission into JCC’s Radiography program. Admission into JCC’s Radiography program is competitive.
e. Advise students that if admitted and assigned to a Radiography clinical program that they shall be considered students of Jackson Community College and will be subject to and governed by any and all applicable rules of Jackson Community College.
f. Support the communication with hospitals/clinics for possible clinical site agreements with JCC and will assist Jackson staff to identify potential clinical sites.
2. Jackson Community College agrees to:
a. Accept no more than the total maximum allowed number of students that the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiography recommends for hospitals, clinics, and labs or any other Radiography Clinical Practicum Affiliate in the NCMC service area that would join in agreement with Jackson for this program. Admission into JCC’s Radiography program is not assured. NCMC students will need to follow the outline of this agreement to become eligible to apply for admission to JCC’s Radiography program. Admission to JCC Radiography program is competitive.
b. Consider Radiography program applications and fees of qualified NCMC students involved in this agreement who have met the requirements for admission.
c. Provide specific Radiography course work (including clinical practicum courses), for NCMC students accepted into the Radiography program for up to eighty (80) credit hours.
d. Notify NCMC students who are accepted into the Radiography program that courses taken at Jackson will be at out of county rates.
e. Advise students that they will participate in clinicals at hospitals/clinics for the purpose of Radiography clinical education for the following Jackson courses:
RAD-126 RAD Clinical Practicum I 3 credits
RAD-162 RAD Clinical Practicum II 3 credits
RAD-210 RAD Clinical Practicum III 5 credits
RAD-214 RAD Clinical Practicum IV 5 credits
RAD-219 RAD Clinical Practicum V 5 credits
f. Accept all satisfactorily earned credits, as indicated in Section 1.b. taken either at NCMC and Jackson and will accept all satisfactorily earned credits, as indicated in Section 1.c. and 1.d. taken at Jackson.
g. Grant the appropriate degree or certificate to all NCMC students who complete the requirements
h. Provide overall program supervision by the program coordinator.
i. Negotiate all clinical affiliation agreements, agreements will be between Jackson Community College and the clinical site.
3. Termination
a. This agreement may be terminated at any time by either party by written notice given to the other party in writing at least ninety (90) days prior to the effective date of such termination; provided, however, that NCMC students that have been admitted to the program at Jackson at the time of the notice be allowed to finish the entire program at Jackson even if the students have more than one year (but not to exceed two years) left in the program.
b. This agreement will be reviewed and revised as necessary but shall remain in effect until termination as specified by the Termination clause of this agreement.
c. This agreement is binding on all successors and assigns of NCMC and Jackson.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, NCMC and Jackson have executed this agreement as of the day and year listed below.
