Now that you are in college and have a desire to succeed, how do you work with your instructor? Establishing a working relationship with this person can be the difference between passing and passing with flying colors! In this workshop, we will explore the dos and the don’ts, mapping out a plan that will secure your academic future. You “don’t” want to miss this one!

Math without Numbers

If you think math has anything to do with numbers, we need to talk.

Effective Textbook Reading

Do you feel as if you are not retaining the information you study? When you are reading, do you doze off? These tips can help you study more effectively and retain what you learn for those test situations!

Effective Note Taking

Do you need help with note taking skills during class lectures, organizing your notes or just need a tip or two to stay on top of the game? This workshop may be the help you need to stay on course. In this workshop we will cover college note taking skills 101 plus we will share a few new tips that may help you better organize, understand and take better notes.

Overcoming Test Anxiety

Everyone has anxiety of some sort when taking tests. This is only natural. In this workshop, we will go over the tips for different types of test questions that may help you become more confident when walking into that classroom come test day as well as cover some things you can do to alleviate some of that anxiety and prepare you for doing your best when it comes to tests.

How to Be Yourself

“Just being yourself is the biggest fear of humans” (Rivas 17). This workshop will examine how our personal belief systems influence our attitude and often keep us from being and accomplishing all that we are capable of. Although the session concentrates on helping you to take greater power over your life to become more effective as a student, these teachings can be applied to all areas of your life, including son or daughter, sibling, employee, partner, and citizen of the world. These simple but profound teachings are based on the philosophy of Don Miguel Ruiz with the support of Nelson Mandela, Michelangelo, and others.

Where Are You Headed?

Are you confused about the direction of your life? Are you unsure of where you’re trying to go or how you’re going to get there even when you do know? This workshop will show you steps you can take now to improve your chances of achieving the things in life that will help you be successful and happy. The workshop will focus on the importance of leadership skills, envisioning the future you want, knowing what will make you happy and setting good goals.

Financial Literacy

Many students have multiple responsibilities, including family, work and school. All of them require budgeting and otherwise good money management. Even if school is your only budget matter, you cannot lose by attending this workshop, which will help you learn to sensibly plan and spend in ways that will ensure a stable future.
