The forensics program at Jackson Community College will go on with a new conductor next year, but don't expect the forensics train to slow down any time soon.
Dave Nadolski, who has been the forensics teacher since August 2005, won't be back in the fall, but he managed to leave a lasting impression on his students. His contract has not been renewed, he said.
"Dave is very knowledgeable in the field that he teaches," said JCC student and Student Parliament President Brandon Goyings. "He has brought a spark to student life here."
Goyings is among the many students who have participated in intercollegiate competition around the country this year. Aside from competing within the state, the team made trips to Georgia and Indiana as well. The competitions provided a source of fun and partnership among the team members, he said.
"The road trips were a blast. Each trip had its own highlights. … We have achieved a lot as a team and I have made some great friends because of forensics."
The excitement won't stop next year, as recruiting for new team members has already begun.
"Students will still be able to sign up for forensics class in the fall," said Dean of Arts and Sciences Ann Green. "The team has been doing a terrific job, and we are very proud of them."
