The Alert System No One Knows About
By Cassie Frazier
Staff Writer
Do you feel safe on JCC’s campus? If not, JCC is now offering what is called the Campus Alert System. Not very many people I spoke with knew much about this.
What the Campus Alert System does is alerts the students, staff and faculty about emergencies around campus. If for some reason the school is closed or there are security incidents, a message will be automatically be sent to your mobile phone to notify you of the problem.
There are two ways to activate the JCC Campus Alert System. You can visit www.campusalert.us/jcc and enter your name, mobile phone number and carrier or you can text JCCALERTS to 55022. If for some reason you want to stop the messages, all you have to do is text STOPJCCALERTS to 55022.
Knowing this type of information is helpful when you are a JCC college student, especially if you don’t live around the area. So check it out If anyone has any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Diana Fenby at 796-8462.
