Late last month, a student was allegedly sighted on the campus revealing a gun and seeking out a Da Vinci student.

Since then, JCC security and occasionally local police officers have been patrolling the area in case the suspect returns.

Cindy Allen, the woman in charge of handling the unruly press types of the area looking to get info on JCC, answered a few comments on the issue on the behalf of the school.

Allen said about the aftermath of the incident, “The suspect has not been seen on campus since the alleged incident.   Local police have interviewed the individual who said he did not have a gun.   So it's one Da Vinci student's word against his.    Campus security will continue to monitor activities on campus.   The student has been sent a letter stating he is not to come onto our campus.”

She also said that “no one from JCC” came into contact with the suspect since the original incident, and also that no one apart from the person that reported the incident has actually seen the supposed firearm.

Finally, she said, as of April 29, the school is on a heightened alert, not “high” alert as some media reported.
