Obama versus Clinton...You decide By James Jenkins Staff Writer
It is clear that Hillary Clinton is hurting the party with her refusal to concede. If what Mrs. Clinton says is true, one is lead to believe that she has the Democratic Party's best interest at heart. However, her actions show otherwise. If she genuinely wanted the best for the party she would not have made the primaries such a spectacle. Clearly Mrs. Clinton does not care about the party as a whole but only about winning. This is similiar to the Bush administrations "forget the people, they dot know what is best, I do' attitude." This type of behavior and attitude is a reflection of who she is as a person. Do we really want that type of person as a leader? Obama has fresh new ideas like investing in alternative fuels and raising fuel efficiency standards for vehicles. A small step, but a step in the right direction away from the "politricks as usual." As Obama seeks to build his lead in the chase for pledged delegates, Clinton is trying halt his momentum and build on her victory in the April 22 Pennsylvania primary. Yes, Clinton has said she will bring down energy cost and create jobs, but hasn't said specifically what she intends to do and how. She also said she will regulate energy traders, but her answers are vague and in direct responses. She often appears to be reciting memorized lines and talks more about why Obama isn't good enough to be president, instead of why she is. Obama's message is clear, change from what is transpiring now in Washington is what is needed. It is note worthy to mention that many of Mrs. Clinton's plans are eerily similiar to Senator John McCain's who is the Republican nominee. One can not over look this in making a decision come election time. Whether Obama is going to do what he says or if he will revert to the same style of governing as those before him is yet to be seen, but one thing is for certain, if he does only one of the things he says he will do for the American people that will be more than has been done by anyone is at least 8 years.
