Things to Do Over the Summer

As the school year comes to an end, some people may find it somewhat difficult to adapt to having nothing to do all summer long. Instead of studying like crazy for that upcoming test, or staying up all night to finish that five-page paper, students may be left wondering what to do.
Do not lie around all summer and wait for something to do, go out and do something! Otherwise, your laziness may build up around your waistline.
Here are some hints that will help students stay physically and mentally active during the long four months of summer:
· Take summer classes: Don’t let your brain fall into a lazy state during those hot, humid months. This could also benefit you in planning your schedule for next year.
· Get to work: The best way to keep yourself on your feet all summer is to get a job.
· Make use of the hot weather: Go out and rollerblade or ride your bike. It will help you physically and economically, given the sky high gas prices.
· Join a sport: Get back to playing your favorite sports that have been on hold since the beginning on the school year.
· Read a book: Instead of being on Facebook or MySpace every night before bed, trying getting into an enjoyable book.
· Go swimming: If you don’t have a pool in your backyard, go to a community pool and bask in the sun.
Just because it’s summer doesn’t give you the excuse to become sluggish. Stay lively by keeping your mind and body occupied. And have a great summer!
