Guided Practice and Workshops
The Guided Practice and Workshops component has been designed to create 16 hours of composition practice and reflective activities for JCC students enrolled in ENG 090, ENG 131, and ENG 132 outside of class hours. Through face-to-face and online workshops composition students will be given supplement help on and guided practice for completing current essay assignments and the end-of-the-semester portfolio.
The Guided Practice and Workshop activities are
- integral and necessary for your success
- fully integrated into the course and its assignments
- mandatory
- worth 10%-20% of the final grade
- approved by the LL&A composition faculty and the Guided Practice and Workshop action team
During the semester your teacher will assign you specific face-to-face and online workshops designed to help you strengthen writing skills necessary for producing successful essays during the course and a successful portfolio at the end of the course.
Please keep a record of all workshops you participate in.
