Q. How do I make an appointment with a Writing Fellow?

A. To make an appointment to see a Writing Fellow, you can click the “Writing Fellow Staff” choice on the left side of the screen, and click the name of the Fellow whose tutoring time is convenient with your schedule. Email your request, and he or she will respond within 24 hours.

Q. Where is the Writing Fellow Center located?

A. The Writing Fellow Center is located in the William Atkinson Library, Breakout room 107 (access through the main library). Look for the yellow table signs that announce “WRITING FELLOW.”

Q. Do Writing Fellows take walk-ins?

A. Yes. Walk-ins are welcome. Even if a Fellow is with another student, please enter the Center and ask to make an appointment.

Q. What is the charge?

A. All tutoring sessions are free of charge.

Q. What should I bring to the Writing Fellow Center?

A. Bring all of your drafts, your assignment sheet, your syllabus, notes, ideas, and questions.

Q. What will happen in the tutoring session?

A. Writing Fellows tutor all stages of the writing process, including prewriting, drafting, revising, and editing, and they can help students with essays, research papers, speeches, reports, etc…. The session lasts, typically, ½ hour. They love talking about writing and are eager to provide you constructive feedback.

Q. I’m interested in becoming a Writing Fellow; whom do I contact?

A. Contact the Writing Fellow Program director, Diana Agy. She will schedule a meeting with you where she will explain the program. Her office is BW 245 and her phone extension is: 7006. She can also be reached by email: agydianam@jccmi.edu
