MTH Department Goals for 07/08
- Implement changes to MTH 098.
a) Provide support materials to instructors to maximize effective use of additional hour of contact time.
b) Implement student math coaching system in DE math courses.
c) Implement DE math/reading learning community.
- Implement use of My Math Lab.
a) Coordination with IT for smooth use of software on campus.
b) Training of faculty in use of system for instruction.
c) System to be used in all online and hybrid courses.
d) System to be used in traditional courses by instructor choice.
- Complete scope and sequence project.
a) Finalize all documents.
b) Distribute all documents both internally and externally.
- Implement changes to course coordinator (lead faculty) role.
a) Duties continue to include creating and providing course documents and course materials to adjunct faculty.
b) Duty has been expanded to include additional mentoring role with adjunct faculty.
- Implement assessment changes to reflect new ADOs.
- Continue efforts to offer classes in new and innovative ways to meet
student needs in terms of both scheduling and delivery.
a) Continue to assess the effectiveness and need for late-start courses.
b) Respond to direct needs, including but not limited to DCX students, ABD students, and high school students.
c) Continue to evaluate department’s scheduling of online and hybrid courses; consider expanding offerings in these areas.
- Work on marketing and recruitment for Fundamentals of Engineering certificate program.
