Emergency Medical Services

Mission Statement

The mission of the Jackson College Emergency Medical Services Department is to enhance the quality of emergency medical care provided to the community by ensuring quality programs that graduate proficient, confident, competent and compassionate field technicians. We pledge to provide the continued learning and training necessary to maintain competence in the field of Emergency Medical Services.

Emergency Medical Services

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is a new and rapidly changing field. As this area continues to upgrade and expand, there will be an increasing demand for trained personnel, especially at the advanced and Associate Degree levels.

The Emergency Medical Technology Programs at Jackson College embrace knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to recognize, assess, and manage medical and traumatic emergencies. EMTs and Paramedics provide this vital intervention as they care for and transport the sick or injured to an appropriate medical facility. Because the EMS field is broad, students completing this program may work in a variety of different fields such as industrial, safety, ambulance (private and public), fire, and emergency room.

Jackson College is a leader among Emergency Medical Services educational institutions. The EMS program is intended for students who wish to receive a high quality education experience and desire to dedicate themselves to careers in Emergency Medical Services. Jackson College provides the educational and clinical background necessary to become eligible for certification/licensure at the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Advanced levels (AEMT/Paramedic).

“With the excellent reputation and experience our program offers, it is clear why you should make the Jackson College EMS Programs your choice for EMS education, I look forward to helping you advance your career to the next level.”
