Corrections & Law Enforcement

Programs:

Criminal Justice

Provides the first two years of a program leading to a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.

Corrections

Associate in Applied Science - 63 credit hours

Corrections Certificate - 31 credit hours

State of Michigan Certified Corrections Officer

Academic program

15 credit Hours in specific corrections courses (CRJ 119,120,121, 124 and127) will give a student priority consideration in hiring by the Department of Corrections . Students may also take 15 credit hours in Corrections, Psychology ,Sociology or Criminal Justice classes and become eligible for employment. The 15 hour requirement may be met prior to or within 18 months of employment with the Department of Corrections. Students must also meet other state requirements (see JCC catalog).

Law Enforcement

Associate in Applied Science - 60 credit hours.

Students in this program will be targeting a career in Law Enforcement Students must also complete Academy Training at one of the 18 police Academies in the State of Michigan.

Law Enforcement Certificate - 31 credit hours

Siena Heights Option

Students can transfer up to 90 credits from JCC to Siena Heights. All Siena Heights courses needed for bachelor's degree are available on JCC's campus.
