Guidelines

Jackson Community College offers the Associate in Applied Science - Early Childhood Development and Education degree and preparatory courses for the Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate. The National Early Childhood Associate Degree Approval System is designed to promote quality in early childhood education associate degree programs by providing a national recognition system based upon the early childhood profession's national standards.  JCC has developed its Child Care Program in accordance with these standards, and based upon the review of standards and guidelines of the following organizations:

  • National Association for the Education of Young Children
  • Council for Exceptional Children/Division of Early Childhood
  • National Association for Family Child Care
  • Council for Professional Recognition
  • National Association for Sick Child Care

Students and programs will find themselves with a better understanding of the requirements for applying for accreditation or certification through these associations.
