Vocal Music Scholarship Opportunties

Mary L. Boyers Music Scholarship

Restrictions: Funds may be used for tuition only.

Criteria

Residence: Jackson, Hillsdale or Lenawee counties

Subject/course of study: Pursing courses of study leading to a degree in a field of study related to music

Enrollment status: Full-time students, however, part-time students will be considered

GPA: Minimum 2.5 from high school or completed college work. G.E.D. recipients will be considered. Renewal candidates must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average

Funding source: Mary L. Boyers estate. Miss Boyers enjoyed attending musical performances at JCC. Because she was without sight, the music was especially meaningful to her.

Evelyne Jones Vocal Music Scholarship

Restrictions: Funds may be sued for tuition, books, fees, supplies and educational expense

Criteria

Must have first year completed; however, first year students will be given secondary consideration as well. Students must demonstrate merit, promise and need as determined by the scholarship committee

Residence: Jackson, Hillsdale or Lenawee counties

Subject/course of study: Courses leading to an associate degree in arts with an emphasis on vocal music

Enrollment Status: Preference given to students pursuing full-time enrollment in courses leading to an associate degree in arts with an emphasis on vocal music

GPA: Minimum of 3.0 from high school or completed college work, and maintain a 3.0 for renewal consideration

Funding source: Mrs. Evelyne Jones. Always musically inclined, she established the scholarship in 1991 because she believes music is a means of enriching people's lives
