The Early Childhood Development and Teacher Education program at Jackson Community College prepares future teachers to be leaders through hands-on experiences and active classroom work. Learning encompasses dialogue, social inquiry, reflection, assessment and skill building. Students participate in portfolio building and service learning opportunities. The JCC Early Childhood and Teacher Education Program nurtures students who think critically, value service and advocate for all children.
The American Association of Community Colleges and the National Science Foundation has recognized JCC’s teacher education program as one of the top ten community college teacher education programs in the country.
