Dear Adjunct Faculty:
Student evaluations are a time for your class to
let you know how you’re doing from their perspective: are they learning
well from you? Is there anything you can do that would help them in
their learning?
While evaluations may seem threatening, you should
know that most students are generous in their ratings of teachers and
eager to express their satisfaction. Their evaluations provide you with
an opportunity for reflection on your teaching.
So students feel free to make their comments, we
ask that you leave the room. Request a student to let you know when
everyone is finished, to put the forms in the envelope, and to deliver
them to the appropriate place as soon as possible..

We will make sure the results are tallied and sent

This evaluation procedure is a contractual
obligation (“Adjunct instructors will be evaluated by their students
prior to December 15 and prior to March 15 of each year.” Article VI, F
of the Master Agreement). We appreciate your timely response and wish
you well.
