A session I really enjoyed at the POD conference discussed the importance of mentoring and the ways in which we can all become mentors.  Eric Liu, the speaker, describes mentors as "guiding lights" who are, first of all, "mindful and aware" of their own mentors.  These guiding lights can then help transform the lives of others.
