Adjunct Evaluations

The Master Agreement requires that all adjunct faculty be evaluated each year. This evaluation provides the students the opportunity to take an active role in the assessment of what they believe has and hasn’t worked thus far in the semester. The feedback may help you make changes and improvements in your teaching approaches and methods during the second half of the semester.

Each question on the survey is scored in the following manner:

Strongly Agree SA 5 points
Agree A 4 points
Do Not Know ? 3 points
Disagree D 2 points
Strongly Disagree SD 1

The points for each question are added and then divided by the total number of respondents to arrive at an average.

The total number of respondents is listed directly below the instructor name on the result sheet. The breakdown for each question is also listed directly to the right of the average using the abbreviations listed above.

For example: On question #1 – The instructor communicates effectively.

If you had seven respondents, three of which strongly agreed (15 points) three that agreed (12 points) and one that did not know (3 points) you would have a total of 30 points. Divide that by 7 (respondents) to arrive at an average of 4.29.

Your result sheet would look like this

Total Number of Respondents – 7

  Average SA A ? D SD
#1 The instructor communicates effectively 4.29 3 3 1
